Ground School

Officers who are also CFIs teach free ground school on evenings during the semester. You don’t have to be a member to attend - everyone is welcome!

Instrument

This course will cover instrument rating aeronautical knowledge prescribed by 14 CFR §61.65(b) and prepare students for the FAA Instrument Rating Airplane (IRA) Knowledge exam.

Fall 2026: Weekly on Tuesdays from 6:00-8:00pm from September 15 through December 1, with no class the week of fall break or Thanksgiving. The location is HAMP 1252.

Private Pilot

This course will cover Private Pilot aeronautical knowledge prescribed by 14 CFR § 61.105 and prepare students for the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge exam.

Fall 2026: Weekly on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00pm from September 10 through December 3, with no class the week of Thanksgiving. The location is HAMP 1252.
